At Better Than Just Okay, we believe that every woman deserves to live a happy, fulfilled life. Our content is dedicated to providing information, inspiration, and resources needed to achieve just that. Here's what we're looking for:

We're looking for 500-1000 word articles on the following topics:

  • Beauty and Fashion

  • Healthy Dieting

  • Feminine Health

  • Personal Growth

  • Feminism

  • Wellness and Self-love

2. ​Inspiring Short Fiction

Sometimes, a story can touch our hearts and inspire us like nothing else. Send short fiction pieces of any length designed to encourage and empower women to love themselves more. We accept stories that have been previously published on personal blogs.

3. Poetry that Inspires

Poetry has a unique way of capturing emotions and expressing the beauty of self-love. Send us poetry and prose that are sure to resonate with women seeking inspiration, empowerment, and a deeper connection with themselves. Poetry that has been previously published on personal blogs is welcome!

 

4. Informative Listicles

We understand the importance of having access to valuable resources and opportunities. Send listicles that highlight important resources for women, ranging from educational programs and networking opportunities to support groups and community initiatives.                                     

 

5. Motivational Downloads and Printables

Sometimes, a little visual motivation can go a long way. We love downloadable and printable resources designed to inspire and motivate women on their journey to self-love and wellness. From affirmations and goal-setting worksheets to inspirational quote posters, we accept resources that will serve as constant reminders to our readers that they are worthy of love and happiness.

We're thrilled that you're interested in contributing to Better Than Just Okay, the ultimate wellness and self-love blog for badass women like you. Here are our submission guidelines to make your journey with us as smooth as a green smoothie:

 

Content Types:

We're all about diversity, so we welcome a wide range of content. Feel free to share your personal wellness journeys, tips, and tricks, expert advice, motivational stories, healthy recipes, mindful practices, and anything else that empowers women to live their best lives. See here for a detailed list.

Tone: Our blog has a friendly and witty vibe, so let your personality shine through your words. We want our readers to feel like they're chatting with their BFF over a cup of herbal tea. Be relatable and honest, and feel free to sprinkle in some humour to keep our readers engaged.

Empowering Women: At Better Than Just Okay, we're all about empowering women to embrace self-love, confidence, and wellness. So, make sure your content aligns with our mission and helps women lead happier, healthier lives.

Originality: We believe in the power of originality. Apart from short fiction and poetry where we accept content previously posted on personal blogs, all writeup submissions must be 100% unique and written exclusively for Better Than Just Okay. We don't want any recycled or plagiarised content, because you, my friend, are a unique voice in this wellness chorus.

Word Count: We appreciate quality over quantity, but aim for 600-1500 words for articles and blog posts. For fiction and poetry, any length is acceptable.

Formatting and Style: Please format your submission in a clear and organised manner. Break up your content with subheadings, bullet points, and numbered lists to make it easily scannable for our busy readers. 

Images: A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Feel free to include relevant images or graphics with your submission. Just make sure that they are high-quality and legally sourced, or better yet, snap your own wellness-inspired photos. However, don't trouble yourself to find the right photos. We will take care of that.

Bio and Social Media: Don't be shy! Tell us a bit about yourself in a short author bio (around 50 words). Feel free to include links to your website or social media profiles. We want to give credit where credit is due and help our readers discover amazing wellness warriors like you.

Submission Process: Ready to share your wellness wisdom with the world? Great! Unless you're sending us printables and downloads, please send your pitch as an email, telling us a bit about what you want to share with us in two to four short paragraphs and how your proposed content can be beneficial to our awesome readers. Alternatively, you can send your completed written submission as a Google Doc or Word document to hello@betterthanjustokay.com. We'll review your submission within one week and get back to you with feedback or a big virtual high-five.

Copyright: By submitting your content to Better Than Just Okay, you grant us the non-exclusive right to publish, modify, and promote your work. However, the ownership and copyright of your content will always remain with you.

Compensation

Unfortunately, at this time, Better Than Just Okay is a non-profit blog and does not have the resources to compensate writers for their contributions. However, we strongly believe in the value of your work and the power of collaboration. While we cannot offer monetary compensation at the moment, we are committed to creating a supportive community for writers and are actively exploring opportunities to compensate our contributors in the future. Your work will be recognised, appreciated, and showcased to our growing audience, providing you with a platform to gain exposure and build your writing portfolio.
